It was spring 2019. Moni’s coworker invited her to an LAFC soccer game, and Eddy was an LAFC season pass holder with his college buddy (hint: this was the same person! Rhett, here is your shout-out!). Much to her dismay, Moni arrived to a 6-pack of Modelos for 8 people, and she surely let the beverage sponsor, Eddy, know. Who could have known this would blossom into love?

Era la primavera de 2019. Un compañero de trabajo invitó a Moni a un partido del LAFC, y Eddy tenía abono de temporada del LAFC con su amigo de la universidad (pista: ¡era la misma persona! Rhett, ¡este saludo es para ti!). Para su decepción, Moni llegó a encontrarse con un six de Modelos para 8 personas, y seguro se lo hizo saber al patrocinador de las bebidas: Eddy. ¿Quién iba a imaginar que eso se convertiría en amor?

The first date (although highly contested) was a concert in LA where sparks were flying. Moni and Eddy would spend the next few months getting to know each other, until they made it official in San Diego, where Eddy asked the age-old question (“When can I call you my girlfriend?” 🤔). It was February 2020, and the future looked bright (or so they thought, hello COVID-19!).

La primera cita (aunque muy debatida) fue un concierto en LA donde volaron chispas. Moni y Eddy pasaron los siguientes meses conociéndose, hasta que lo hicieron oficial en San Diego, donde Eddy hizo la pregunta de siempre (“¿Cuándo te puedo decir mi novia?” 🤔). Era febrero de 2020 y el futuro se veía brillante (o eso creían, ¡hola, COVID-19!).

In August 2024, Eddy finally decided to pop the big question. Eddy and Moni (and their trusty sidekick, Oslini) made their way to Malibu to watch the sunset at Eddy’s old stomping grounds.

En agosto de 2024, Eddy por fin decidió hacer la gran pregunta. Eddy y Moni (y su fiel compañero, Oslini) fueron a Malibú a ver el atardecer en los viejos rumbos de Eddy.

After a while, Eddy insisted they move to a special spot from one of their very first dates. That’s when Moni thought: could this be the moment? And why didn’t Eddy tell her so she could wash her hair?

Al rato, Eddy insistió en ir a un lugar especial de una de sus primeras citas. Fue entonces cuando Moni pensó: ¿será este el momento? ¿Y por qué Eddy no le avisó para que pudiera lavarse el pelo?

And it surely was. Eddy proposed to Moni on a Malibu cliffside with the sunset and Pacific Ocean as their background. The ring box was upside down, but the vibes were immaculate (and the ring was safe 💍). Some of their closest friends soon joined them for a toast to their future together.

Y claro que lo era. Eddy le propuso matrimonio a Moni en un acantilado de Malibú, con el atardecer y el océano Pacífico de fondo. La caja del anillo estaba al revés, pero la vibra era impecable (y el anillo estaba a salvo 💍). Pronto se les unieron algunos de sus amigos más cercanos para brindar por su futuro juntos.
